DETAILED SCOPE AND DESCRIPTION
This project involved replacement of aged watermains with HDPE or MPVC pipes by direct excavation or horizontal directional drilling including replacement of all residential and commercial service connections. Watermain Construction was carefully planned in a logical sequence working in cooperation with other agencies including DTMR. Newly constructed Water Mains were flushed, tested and commissioned prior to decommissioning of disused mains.

PROJECT OUTCOMES
Successful completion of the watermain replacements and decommissioning of old mains whilst minimising disruption to traffic and businesses. Benefits of the new mains include minimal maintenance requirements for the initial years of service and higher reliability of potable water quality provided to customers in the immediate areas. Increased flows and pressures are likely as a result of increased main sizes being installed and servicing future demand as growth in the network continues.
