DETAILED SCOPE AND DESCRIPTION
ATC Consulting Engineers and Project Managers were engaged to deliver the rehabilitation of the flood-damaged Bon Accord Bridge, a vital community crossing over Barambah Creek.
Funded under the Queensland Reconstruction Authority’s Flood Recovery and Betterment Program, the project required a full replacement of the bridge deck, rehabilitation of the substructure, and the design and construction of upgraded approaches.
ATC provided full project and contract management services across the project lifecycle, from pre-tender through construction, commissioning and handover.
The design incorporated resilience measures, including a slim deck profile and upgraded approach alignments, to improve flood immunity and reduce the likelihood of future damage.
PROJECT OUTCOMES
The completed bridge reopened a vital transport link for the community, restoring reliable access across Barambah Creek.
The upgraded design significantly improved resilience to flooding, supporting Council’s long-term asset management and ensuring ongoing community safety and connectivity.
